About the Principal Attorney

A Los Angeles native, Melissa B. Buchman is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she double majored in Psychology and Spanish. She then returned home to earn her law degree from the UCLA School of Law. In 2007, she started practicing family law at the Harriett Buhai Center, a non-profit family law clinic in Los Angeles assisting low-income clients. From there, Ms. Buchman moved into the private sector, most recently practicing law at Trope and Trope LLP, the largest and most prestigious family law firm in Southern California.

Ms. Buchman is admitted to practice law in California and Pennsylvania. She is also a trained mediator, specializing in successfully resolving family disputes without litigation. Having lived in both Costa Rica and Spain, Ms. Buchman is fluent in Spanish.
